Are solar panels suitable for my business?
Suitability depends mainly on consumption and its timing, usable space and the grid connection. Using generation on site can reduce electricity purchased from the grid. Roof condition, load capacity and shading must also be checked. If the roof is unsuitable, we assess ground mounting.
What size solar installation should a business choose?
Do not size a system only by annual consumption or free roof area. We compare consumption with generation forecasts, including working days, weekends and seasonality, and check export terms and the role of storage.
When should a business consider battery storage?
Consider analysis if you want to shift generation and consumption in time or manage demand more flexibly. Payback depends on prices, use, losses, equipment and control costs. Potential flexibility-service income needs a separate assessment of service terms.
Can batteries be added to an existing solar farm?
This depends on the inverters, electrical installation, connection conditions and battery system. We need equipment and system details to check compatibility and upgrades. Capacity and charging and discharging power are selected together with the controls.
Can storage work without solar panels?
Yes, suitable systems can charge from the grid. Consumption patterns, electricity contract, grid connection, charging control and total costs need to be assessed separately. Storage alone does not guarantee savings or a fixed payback period.
Does a battery provide backup during an outage?
Backup needs a suitable technical design. Clarify essential loads, power, required runtime and switchover options. A conventional grid-connected solar installation or battery does not automatically provide working backup power.
What affects business solar and battery costs?
Costs depend on equipment power and capacity, mounting, roof or ground conditions, cable lengths, switchboards, controls, documentation and electrical work. Grid operator charges and additional work should be itemised separately.
How quickly do solar and batteries pay back?
No single payback period can be promised to every business. The calculation needs consumption data, investment, generation forecasts and price assumptions. Batteries also require use, usable capacity, losses, control and maintenance inputs. We compare results under different assumptions.
Which permits and approvals are needed?
Documentation depends on size, location and installation type. Local authority and grid operator requirements are clarified during the project. Connection and export conditions must be checked before final equipment selection.
What should I include in my enquiry?
Start with contact details, the property address and a short description. If available, include annual consumption and existing solar or inverter details. Consumption timing and your electricity contract help refine the analysis.
